Cooking Made Easy (and Sightly)

With countless feasts, holiday parties, and get-togethers upon us, there is no time like the present to learn how to cook up some magic. Even if you’ve never spent more than a few minutes in the kitchen, there are many apps that can help turn cooking from a dreaded, daunting task into an easy, enjoyable activity. The Photo Cookbook has two of the best cooking apps for the iPhone and iPad — Quick & Easy (for recipes to be made in 30 minutes or less, split into categories of Meat, Fish, Vegetarian, and Desserts) and Baking (for delicious, baked treats, split into categories of Cakes/Traybakes, Pastries, Small Cakes & Cookies, and Breads). Both of these apps guide you step-by-step through awesome recipes. What makes them so great, however, is that the directions are also presented through clear, detailed pictures, so if the recipe jargon is a bit daunting for you, the recipes show you as well as tell you exactly what you need to be doing. Everything you see in the pictures is what you should see in front of you, so you don’t have to wait until everything is all done to realize if you’ve made a mistake or made a masterpiece. It’s like having your own chef tutor, showing you the ways, turning you into a master of the kitchen in no time.
